HOME VISITS
If you, or a relative, are unable to come to our practice, we can occassionally arrange an appointment in your home for a very limited amount of dental treatment (usually only extractions and/or dentures). This service can only be provided when availability of surgery time permits. Please also note that all of our dental centres are on the ground floor and have been designed to allow easy access for those patients with a disability.
NERVOUS? DENTAL PHOBIA?
We fully understand the anxiety and fear felt by most people with regard to dental treatment. Almost always, careful and sympathetic treatment from your dentist will help you to build up confidence which in turn helps to alleviate this anxiety. However, we recognise that for some patients, their fear can be so strong that it actually prevents them from seeking or having the dental care that they require. If you find yourself in this group; do not hesitate to discuss your concerns with our dentists or practice staff. We offer intra-venous sedation services (except when a pre-existing medical condition would contra-indicate such treatment) which in the vast majority of cases will remove your anxiety and is often reported by patients as replacing it with a warm, pleasant, happy feeling!
EMERGENCY TREATMENT
We recognise that there's nothing worse than toothache when you're suffering from it! We try as best we can to accommodate all our patients who are in pain as quickly as possible. If you require urgent treatment, we ask that you make every effort to contact the practice before 10 a.m. so that you can be assured an emergency appointment that day. CHILDREN WELCOME
Naturally, it is easier to treat children and show them how to look after their teeth if they are introduced to the dentist at as young an age as possible. We hope that you feel free to bring them along with you when you visit the surgery - they are very welcome! We'll do everything we can to make their trip to the dentist an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. Very often, regular, 6-monthly visits can instil good dental care habits, the benefits of which will last for their lifetime. It also gives the dentist the opportunity to reinforce preventitive care and to clinically intervene early to prevent a problem occuring. Our practice group recommends a treatment known as fissure sealing as an excellent means of preventing tooth decay.
